Twitter Glossary

A friend told me, "I do not know how to use twitter?"


Surprisingly because [I think] twitter is way too simple for social networking than others. twitter is like sending an txt message with a friend, we can see the difference between the public updates - but there is also a feature to close it.

Here are some terms that will help all my friends / all blog readers - which is 'NEW' with twitter

• Follow: we’re following Twitter updates from someone

• Follower: people who follow our Twitter updates

• Hashtag: a sentence where a word preceded by a hash mark [usually positioned as a specific topic]

• Mention: called reply too, that is inserted in the nick of people we Tweet. For example; hi @junadroid :)

• RT [Re-Tweet], there are two types of Re-Tweet

New Style: Copy and Paste [copas]  tweet had to be disclosed to our follower [twitter.com version]

 Old Style: CoPas tweet but we can edit it [only twitter client version]

• DM [Direct message]: a personal message to our follower  [people who aren’t following us cant send us the DM]

•  Sign in with oauth: login 'safe' oauth via twitter [means this application has been sanctioned by twitter.com]

Seorang teman berkata, "Aku gag ngerti gimana caranya maen twitter?"

Sungguh mengejutkan karena [menurutku] twitter adalah social networking ter-simple ketimbang yang lain. twitter itu layaknya kita maen sms sama teman, hanya saja bedanya sms kita bisa dilihat publik--tapi ada juga fitur untuk menutupnya.

Berikut beberapa istilah yang akan membantu sobat semua--yang masih AWAM dengan twitter
~ Follow : mengikuti update tweet orang
~ Follower : orang yang mengikuti update tweet kita
~ hashtag : sebuah kata ato kalimat dimana diawali oleh tanda pagar [biasanya diposisikan sebagai topik tertentu]
~ mention : disebut juga reply, yaitu menyisipkan nick orang pada tweet kita. Misal; hai @junadroid :)
~ RT [Re-Tweet], ada dua jenis Re-Tweet
New Style: Hanya men-copas tweet untuk diperlihatkan ke follower kita [versi twitter.com]
Old Style: selain men-copasnya kita juga bisa meng-editnya [versi twitter client]
~ DM [Direct message] : pesan pribadi ke follower kita [orang yg kita following gag bisa dikirimi dm]
~ Sign in with oauth : login 'aman' lewat oauth twitter [berarti aplikasi ini telah direstui oleh twitter.com ]
